How to get your API key from Follow Up Boss
- Sign in to Follow Up Boss and open Admin.
- Select API, then choose Create API Key.
- Name it Pulse Audit and select Create API Key.
- Select Copy, return here, and paste the key into the field above.
Follow Up Boss only shows the complete key when it is created, so copy it before selecting Done. If Create API Key is unavailable, ask your account owner to grant you API Access or create the key for you.

What happens to my key
The honest version, because it is the only question that matters here.
- Never stored. Your key is used once, in memory, for the length of this one request. It is never written to our database, never written to a log, and never included in an error report.
- Read-only. This audit only reads. It cannot create, change or delete anything in your account, because it never sends anything but a read.
- Nothing is created. No account, no login, no contact record for you. We keep exactly two things: the headline score, and your Follow Up Boss account ID, so we can count how many audits ran. No name, no contacts, no key.
- Bounded. It never pages your database. It reads counts and one small sample of your newest contacts, so it cannot be used to pull your data out through us. It also stops after six audits an hour from one network.

Revocable in ten seconds. If you would rather not take our word for any of
the above, do this instead:
- In Follow Up Boss, go to Admin, then API, and create a key named "Pulse Audit".
- Paste it above and run the audit.
- Delete the key. It is dead the moment you do, everywhere.
